A mid-century Turkish rug with regular stylized floral motifs in the main border flanked with flowers and movement in the guard borders on either side.
The rug could be considered a prayer rug despite its unusually larger size for this is due to the urn or jugs throughout the centre thought to be for abluting the sins and preparation of the washing of the feet prior to prayer.Low in areas this rug has had some minor restoration to the sides, ends and field.
The sides show the skill of the weaver with thecontinual movement of the colour palate incorporated throughout.
