PET Polyethylene Terephthalate
It’s hard to believe from the soft texture and luxurious feel of our PET samples that they are made of 1000s of recycled plastic bottles, saving tonnes of plastic from landfill around the globe. Its sustainable materials make it a great choice for those looking to reduce their environmental impact.
Just like real wool rugs our team of artisan weavers use traditional methods to create beautiful flooring in a range of different weaves, as with our traditional wool rugs particular weaves lend themselves to different environments. Whether it’s a soft comfortable feel in the bedroom or a more hardwearing high traffic area in an entrance hall, will you be using as a base to lay your rug on top or as a beautiful minimalist flooring in itself, it is essential to consider the different weave types available to ensure you select the right base for the right space.
Flatwoven
Ideal for the high traffic areas of the entrance, hallway, kitchens or living spaces. Flatwoven rugs feature a close loop weave that are harder wearing and less prone to snagging, highly durable and long lasting and easy to keep clean.
Soft Open Weaves
Soft and cosy underfoot with the real feel of a wool rug, an open weave is ideal for the low traffic areas of the home. Bedrooms, snugs or study the soft open weave still hardwearing and long lasting are best suited to lower traffic to prevent snagging.
With the fibres of PET deriving from plastic bottles it also makes the rugs suitable for outdoor spaces giving them multiple use around the home, they are also easily washed as well as water and stain resistant.
Jute
With the same theme of sustainability our Jute Bespoke pieces are made from natural fibres. Jute is extracted from the bark of the white jute plant, a natural fibre with a golden silky shine. Jute is a more sustainable material than cottons as less water, pesticides and maintenance are needed for its production.
Our Jute samples although are incredibly hard wearing are coarser to touch making it ideal for those areas where high traffic is present, with its of natural lustre it brings a durable yet relaxed feel to any home.
Both our Jute and PET range can be made to any size and colour making it an affordable and sustainable option in our bespoke service. We work with you to create your perfect design and once in production the lead time to delivery will be provided.
