A favourite of mine. The design skewed off at first glance looks symmetrical then on closer inspection shows the skill of the 2 weavers. Their concentration, change of moods and ability to manipulate and add rows where necessary. 
Simple and naive almost, this tribal rug has a history, a story to tell. 
Would it have been mother and daughter or sisters sat alongside each other while they tended to the other daily chores.
Beautiful in colour being a softer madder and mid blue than many. The borders keep the flow of the eye throughout.
Were the different colour warps, indicators to help guide the weavers or simply that’s what they had?
Animals and birds sit amongst stylised plants and possibly insects. Beautiful!
