Persian Karadja 181 x 140cm
A favourite of mine, this late 19th early 20th century North West Persian Karadja is bursting with energy and full of stylized motifs. The skill of the weaver is shown in the main floral border with a constant movement of colour potentially blossom throughout, the corner spandrels are small in scale but put together almost make the 2 end medallions.
The field triple medallions as standard in motifs in the alternating style that is synonymous to Karadja rugs pop with the use of ivory to outline to a greater and lesser extent each of the motifs This is then flanked with floating stylised geometric flora and fauna this rug is alive with movement and colour.
