Veramin is based south east of Tehran the now capital city of Iran. Rugs from here are often thought to be the most authentic in layout and motifs with stylised flowers being the main feature within these rugs. Veramins are rarely woven larger than 270cm x 180cm.
Here the palate retains the thought that Persian rugs start as red white and blue, more colour equals more design which equals more money. This can been seen within the use of this simple palate where the light blue may have been the exhaust from the darker blue dye bath and similar for the soft apricot tone.
Sharp in execution of its drawing the deep field is likened to ivory growing throughout with leaves seen mainly due to the red outline. A stunning ¼ repeat design with simple repeat floral borders. A hard wearing rug.
