697 Persian Qashqai

254cm x 164cm this new production south west Qashqai is woven on a woolen foundation which makes me think its still been woven by the nomad sector of this area as many of the qashqai have been settled but then their rugs tend to be woven on a cotton warp.
Here we can see the triple medallion in the main field, with the corner spandrels depicting stylised birds and plants as is the main red field.  One of my personal favourites is the movement going up the rug in the triangles which are dotted with blossom. a great modern tribal rug
