Belouch 189 x 102cm
Potentially woven by settled tribes’ people from the Belouch region of Eastern Iran. Why do I say this because it is woven on a cotton warp as opposed to the more traditional hand spun woollen warp when the tribe still migrated.
A large crisply drawn geometric stylised trailing floral motif in the main border surrounds a diagonal format tile motif in the field in alternate colours creating depth and movement. The rug is lifted by the hi lite use of ivory in the outer guard border and flowers in the main border.
Robust and unobtrusive this rug will with stand heavy traffic.
