A standard scene of an English woodland with layers of flora and fauna filling the field and flanked by a rhythmic floral border.
Clearly the piece has been hung as it should be as except for one small hole the piece is in excellent condition. It is not backed as I don’t feel it would warrant any extra from being so.
The main design draws the onlooker in the centre where perhaps a small pond lies despite its pale gold colouring, but blue was very difficult to produce at this time
