Persian Mahal 607 x 417cm - Reserved
Persian reproduction from the mahal region which was in full flow in the late 1990 / early 2000. Heavily beaten on a depressed warp it’s a different construction from the traditional rugs from Mahal which are Turkish knots on parallel warps. The dense deep pile and deep depression mean this rug will outlive generations to come.
The decorative large scale open design is what the region is known for, and this is no exception. The wide-open border contains a pool of aqua blue with flowers floating as if in a pool of water flanked by smaller repetitive guard borders mirroring the design either side of the main border.
The linear almost pillar like structures could be urns, pillars or windows floating in the abrash (dye bath change) main field.
The soft desirable palette will lift and easily decorate any room.
In excellent condition
