A favourite of mine, this mid-20th century North West Persian Karadja is full of stylized motifs. The skill of the weaver is shown in the main floral border with a constant movement of colour, the corner spandrels in the main field could match to form a central medallion, while the field triple medallions as standard in motifs in the alternating style that is synonymous to Karadja rugs. Flanked with floating stylised geometric flora and fauna this rug is alive with movement and colour.
