Early Lori rugs are floppy in weave, the designs and original colour palate being big bold designs of which recent contemporary design S.W. Persian Gabbeh rugs base their design and colour style on although in a different solid weave. Mid century Lori andGabbeh continued in the floppy weave but used just natural sheep tones. Here the Lori has an all over tile format with stylised flowers repeated throughout flanked by simple designed borders with stars which can be interpreted to symbolize happiness and prosperity.
